Lending Manager

We Make Home a Better Place. One Roof Community Housing is hiring a Lending Manager who wants their work to truly matter. As a mission‑based nonprofit and certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), we partner with families who have been historically underserved by traditional lending.
In this role, you’ll lead a dedicated lending team that delivers flexible, affordable home purchase and rehabilitation loans—including deferred and forgivable options—that help low‑ to moderate‑income households build stability, equity, and long‑term opportunity.

Position Overview:
The Lending Manager is responsible for the supervision, coordination, and implementation of activities for One Roof’s Lending department. This position also assists with community outreach, reporting, and organizational administration.
This position will remain open until filled and the review of applications will begin on Monday, March 23rd.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
General Duties:
- Lead the work of the One Roof lending team.
- Assist with loan program creation based on community needs.
- Assist with creating and maintaining loan program procedures, manuals, guidelines, etc, as needed.
- Assist with loan modification and pay off requests.
- Track monthly loan production on Lending Dashboard.
- Attend monthly Finance Committee meetings.
- Assist with quarterly and annual departmental reports.
- Perform public facing duties related to Lending programs, including community and partner outreach, as well as media requests.
- Assist with periodic policy & procedure review.
- Assist with grant writing as needed.
- Provide input on annual production goals.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with administrators of city, state and private loan/grant programs, realtors, lenders and other resources available to One Roof Community Housing clients.
- Serve as primary contact for MN Housing Finance Agency regarding loan origination & compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.

Supervision:
- General supervision and training of lending staff.
- Assist in developing individual work plan goals, as well as monitoring progress during quarterly check-ins.
Origination and Underwriting:
- Assist with home purchase and home rehabilitation loan origination.
- Underwrite loans originated by staff.
- Utilize loan origination and servicing software to track loan production & overall portfolio performance.
- Assign loans to appropriate capital sources prior to closing.
- Serve as back-up for lending staff as needed.
Compliance:
- Conduct Annual Quality Control Plan review.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal lending regulations.
- Complete annual certification & licensure renewals as needed.
Supervision Received:
- The Senior Director, Housing Programs supervises this position and supervision is regular.
Supervision Exercised:
- The Lending Manager supervises the Lending Coordinator I & II as well as the Housing Rehab Coordinator.
Qualifications & Skills:
REQUIRED, Minimum qualifications for the position include:
- Mission-Oriented: Commitment to improving the lives of low-income families and/or individuals by making their housing more affordable and secure.
- Either 3+ years’ experience in mortgage/real estate industry or program management/supervision.
- Excellent record keeping and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in problem solving and goal planning.
- Ability to read and assess borrower credit worthiness based on credit report and/or alternative lines of credit.
- Math skills needed to assess borrower income eligibility, debt to income ratios, etc.
- Ability to handle conflict and work with clients in crisis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
PREFERRED, Other desired qualifications include:
- 3+ years loan origination experience.
- Experience working with underserved communities including low-income families and/or individuals. Cultural self-awareness and a demonstrated ability to work across cultural differences with empathy and sensitivity.
- Bachelor’s degree with coursework in finance, business, social work, economics or related field.
- 3+ years mortgage industry and/or real estate experience.
- 3+ years supervision experience.
- Supervision experience.
- Experience with program compliance & reporting.
- Experience public speaking for the purpose of hosting outreach activities and/or borrower group orientation sessions.
- Understanding of not-for-profit agency operations.
- Experience in working with private, state, and federal housing programs.
- Experience in real estate.
Travel may be required for occasional training opportunities but is not a regular requirement for this position.

Full time employment at One Roof offers a competitive benefits package including health and dental insurance, 401K with 5% employer contribution and up to an additional 2% match, life insurance, and generous paid time off and holidays.
Full-time employment is based on a fixed weekly salary, based upon a 40-hour workweek. However, in most workweeks One Roof tries to offer the flexibility of a 32-hour work week. (One Roof office hours are Monday – Thursday)
