What is Home Stretch?
Home Stretch is a comprehensive homebuyer education workshop that walks you through the home buying process from start to finish, to help you become an informed, prepared consumer.
Home Stretch offers objective, practical information to help you get on the path to homeownership. You will also benefit from the perspectives of local housing professionals, including loan officers, Realtors, home inspectors, closing agents, and home insurance providers.
What This Workshop Covers
This workshop covers the entire home buying process. Topics include:
- Determining your readiness to buy a home
- Understanding credit and how it affects your home purchase
- Deciding what type of mortgage is best for your needs
- Selecting the right home for your situation
- Understanding the loan closing process
- Learning about local mortgage programs and down payment assistance options
Who Should Take This Workshop?
Workshop Format
- Total course time is 8 hours
- The course is split across multiple days and times each month
- All 8 hours must be attended to receive a certificate of completion
- Workshops are currently offered virtually unless otherwise indicated

Details About Registration
- Each participant must register individually and complete and sign all required disclosures.
- You will be asked to review and sign required disclosures at the end of the registration process. If this is not completed, your registration for the class is not finalized.
- On the first disclosure page, you will review each item and confirm that you have read and understand it by checking all required boxes, then click submit.
- A second page will appear where you will review the disclosures again, digitally sign the form, enter your email, and click submit.
- You will then receive an email with a link to verify your signature. Once this step is complete, your disclosures and registration are complete.

Our Home Stretch workshops are best suited for buyers in the Twin Ports and surrounding areas.
If you plan to purchase elsewhere, you can find a class in your purchase area through the Minnesota Homeownership Center.
